About Our Department
The Department of Computer Application is devoted to the study and research in applications of computer science at graduate and post-graduate levels. To bridge the wide chasm between computer theory and applications, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology , an educational initiative of JIS Group, a premier Educational conglomerate of Eastern India, started Master in Computer Application(MCA) program in the year 2007 with an intake of 60 students. The program is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). We also started Bachelor of Computer Application(BCA) in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 students. The program is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). Since its inception in 2007 it has produced several batches of young, trained and talented individuals who have made their mark in software software industries like Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), Wipro, Cognigent(CTS), Infosys, ITC Infotech, BiskFarm, WBSEB and many more. The combination of competent and vibrant faculty members,modern infrastructure and state-of-the-art technical resources give an edge to the young technocrats. Dedicated Labs, equipped Library, Technical and Communication skills grooming along with regular industry exposure and interaction with various disciplines of GNIT are important value additions.
